This work has as Topic the students' lack of interest in Mathematics, in particular it
was decided to investigate: what are the possible causes that led the students of the
High School to have disinterest for the discipline of Mathematics? This work has as
theoretical foundation references related to Mathematics Education and Education,
as well as documents such as: Tocantins Curricular Reference, National Curricular
Parameters (NCP) and others. Therefore, a survey was carried out from August 10 to
August 19, 2016, which was adopted as an instrument for obtaining information: two
questionnaires, one for the students and the other for the teachers of the Jorge
Amado State School, In Araguaína - TO, to investigate some of the causes that may
have led to the disinterest of these students by the discipline of Mathematics. In the
sequence, a qualitative and quantitative analysis was carried out, based on the
answers of the proposed questions, which were distributed in tables and graphs
some causes that led them to the disinterest for the discipline of Mathematics, such
as: the distraction With colleagues in the classroom with conversations, the use of
cell phones, the lack of help from parents in school tasks and the lack of mastery of
the basic content of Elementary School. Some argue that this was due to factors
such as: monotonous lectures of teachers and students liking other subjects that do
not require mental effort. Finally, we consider that this work may help future teachers
to identify the possible causes that lead the student to disinterest for the Mathematics
discipline and can stimulate them to seek solutions to lead the student to have an
interest in the discipline. |
