It is a qualitative research, based upon oral history, and, more specifically, thematic oral history. The techniques performed were bibliographical and documental research, fieldwork and surveys. The main objective was to analyze the practice developed in history lessons, within the scope of the project “Quilombo a sacred territory, in focus: Quilombo Ilha São Vicente”, in State School Denise Gomide Amui’s high school classes, in Araguatins/TO, between September and November from 2019. This was further developed alongside the quilombola community, in the timeframe between October and November from the year 2019. During the practice there were trips to the quilombo, with the development of activities that encompassed this territory’s history and its memories, relating these to the history of that Tocantins municipality, aiming to thus demonstrate to both students and teachers that it is possible, and necessary, the meshing of knowledge and the valuing and inclusion of local history as a strategy of decolonial teaching. The practice assessment was undergone through thematic surveys with participants (students, teachers, pedagogical staff and quilombola community). In the assessment, oralities point to a positive sign regarding the practice, as it being of great potential to work themes such as local and quilombola history and the ethnic- racial issue. A dissertação tem como tema o ensino do componente curricular de história fora do espaço escolar como estratégia para potencializar e valorizar a história local, dar visibilidade à comunidade quilombola e propiciar, assim, a aprendizagem da história local. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, com aporte na história oral, mais especificamente, a história oral temática. As técnicas utilizadas foram a pesquisa bibliográfica, documental, trabalho de campo e entrevistas. O objetivo geral foi analisar a prática desenvolvida nas aulas de história, no âmbito do projeto “Quilombo um território sagrado, em foco: Quilombo Ilha São Vicente”, no ensino médio na Escola Estadual Denise Gomide Amui, em Araguatins/TO, na temporalidade de setembro a novembro do ano de 2019. Esta foi desenvolvida em parceria com a comunidade quilombola, no espaço temporal de outubro a novembro do ano de 2019. Na ocasião da prática, foram realizadas visitas ao quilombo, com elaboração de atividades que permearam a história desse território, as memórias, relacionando-as à história do município tocantinense, visando assim demonstrar aos alunos e demais professores que é possível, e necessário, a integração de saberes, a valorização e inclusão da história local como estratégia de ensino decolonial. A avaliação da prática foi realizada através de entrevistas temáticas com os participantes (alunos, professores, coordenação pedagógica e comunidade quilombola).
