CNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS The aim of the study was to evaluate the economic viability of termination of super-young dairy cattle slaughtered at 6 months of age and fed diets containing different levels of addition of crude glycerin replacing corn. 24 calves were used three months of age and initial weight of 95.46 ± 11.80 kg, distributed in experimental design with four experimental diets with inclusion levels (0, 80, 160 or 240 g / kg) of crude glycerin in the dry matter of the total diet and six replicates per treatment. The experimental period was 104 days, 14 days for the period of adaptation and 90 days for completion of the performance test. It was found that the fixed cost and the opportunity cost of land linearly reduced as crude glycerin was included in the diets. The variable cost components have not changed significantly by the inclusion of crude glycerin in the diet. Fixed costs expressed as a percentage only the opportunity cost of land reduced linearly, the other variables that make up the fixed costs were not influenced by the inclusion of crude glycerin. The cost of acquisition of animals in percentage increased linearly. The cost of food has reduced linearly. There was no significant difference for any of the financial return indicators analyzed. The male calf milk mixed use is feasible because it has economic returns when used in the containment system. The use of crude glycerin replacing corn in diets for the production of super-young males of dairy calves at a price of 60% of the market value of corn showed no economic advantages in the activity to justify their independent use of the level of inclusion. O trabalho foi desenvolvido objetivando avaliar a viabilidade econômica da terminação de bovinos leiteiros super-jovens abatidos com 6 meses de idade e alimentados com dietas contendo diferentes níveis de adição de glicerina bruta em substituição ao milho. Foram utilizados 24 bezerros com três meses de idade e peso inicial médio de 95,46±11,80 kg, distribuídos em delineamento experimental com quatro dietas experimentais com níveis de inclusão (0; 80; 160 ou 240 g/kg) de glicerina bruta na matéria seca da dieta total e seis repetições por tratamento. O período experimental foi de 104 dias, 14 dias correspondentes ao período de adaptação e 90 dias para realização do ensaio de desempenho. Verificou-se que os custos fixos e o custo de oportunidade da terra reduziram linearmente à medida que se incluiu glicerina bruta nas dietas. Os componentes do custo variável não foram alterados significativamente com a inclusão de glicerina bruta na dieta. Dos custos fixos expressos em percentual apenas o custo de oportunidade da terra reduziu linearmente, as demais variáveis que compõem os custos fixos não foram influenciadas pela inclusão de glicerina bruta. O custo com aquisição de animais em percentual aumentou linearmente enquanto o custo com alimentação reduziu linearmente. Não houve diferença significativa para nenhum dos indicadores de retorno financeiro analisados. O aproveitamento do bezerro macho mestiço leiteiro é viável pois apresenta retorno econômico quando utilizado no sistema de confinamento.
