Child labor is a serious problem that affects children and adolescents all over the world, a
complex phenomenon derived from a set of economic, social, cultural factors, among others,
which reveal the need for actions to combat this problem. In this perspective, the present work
aims to analyze the contributions of Psychology in coping with child labor, based on actions
that were developed during the supervised internship of the Psychology course at the Federal
University of Tocantins, carried out between March and June 2022, in Service for
Coexistence and Strengthening of Links (SCFV) in a municipality in Tocantins. Therefore,
the experience report constructed from the field diaries that focused on the researcher's
activity as a trainee was adopted as a type of research, having been analyzed through the
contribution of Community Social Psychology. Therefore, the experience reported here,
permeated with questions and limitations, demonstrates that psychology can contribute to
facing child labor through actions guided by a critical, ethical perspective and committed to
the reality in which it operates. Even in the face of a social practice aimed at communities, it
is still possible to visualize a long road ahead. While the process of interning at the SCFV,
opened the eyes to new perspectives of performance and work practices focused on the
community context. |
