The inclusion of people with disabilities is a theme that has been gaining space within
educational institutions, since the Federal Constitution of 1988 was formalized, basic
education is now understood as a right for all. Thus, it is necessary to discuss the rights
established in the legislation, with a view to effectively guarantee Special Education
proposals from an inclusive perspective at all levels of Basic Education. This research
is a literature review that sought to understand the paths taken and the advances
achieved in relation to Inclusive Education in the State of Tocantins, based on the
guiding documents of national educational policies and legal regulations published by
the State of Tocantins (2015) and in research carried out on the subject between 2019
and 2023. It was found that the Specialized School Service – AEE and the
Multifunctional Resource Room – SRM provide the opportunity to learn and live in
society, exchanging knowledge and life experiences. It was possible to perceive that
the Tocantins legislation reinforces the objectives of federal regulation, but does not
advance in mapping its own deficiencies and plans to remedy them. |
