Libras by itself is a visual language used by the Deaf Community, however, most deaf people complete basic education without knowing their first language, that is, Libras. Faced with situations, and difficulty observing the high percentage of deaf people who do not know sign language, this work portrays the cognitive barriers that deaf academics may face during their academic career, and for this purpose, it is a bibliographical, quantitative research, qualitative, and field. However, an interview was conducted with a deaf student to understand the mishaps she faces in her daily routine within the university, and to give greater strength and viability to the academic's speeches, some theoretical references were placed, such as OLIVEIRA(2020), QUADROS (2004), CHOMSKY(2022), VYGOTSKY(2002)...among others. This research was divided into four topics, the first will discuss the importance of language for human development, the second is a power relationship, and development process, the third linguistic reality of the deaf community, and finally the last topic is data analysis, this part will reveal the precariousness that the deaf academic go through daily with the slow process of linguistic development, which influences the cognitive of the deaf academic. Nos últimos anos houve um acréscimo de debates sobre a educação de surdos, e umas das questões que vem sendo colocada em pauta é de como ocorre esse processo de inclusão dos mesmos na vida acadêmica. A Libras por si só, é uma língua visual utilizada pela Comunidade Surda, porém, boa parte dos surdos conclui a educação básica sem saber a sua primeira língua, ou seja, Libras. Diante das situações, dificuldade observando a alta porcentagem de pessoas surdas que não conhece a língua de sinais, esse trabalho vem retratar sobre as barreiras cognitivas que acadêmicos surdos podem enfrentar durante sua trajetória acadêmica, e por esse objetivo se trata de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, quantitativo, qualitativo e de campo. Contudo, foi realizado uma entrevista com uma discente surda para entender os percalços que a mesma enfrenta em sua rotina diária dentro da universidade, e para dar maior força e viabilidade as falas da acadêmica foram colocados alguns referenciais teóricos, como: OLIVEIRA(2020), QUADROS (2004), CHOMSKY(2022), VYGOTSKY(2002)...dentre outros. Esta pesquisa foi dividida em quatro tópicos, o primeiro vai discorrer sobre a importância da língua para o desenvolvimento humano, o segundo relação de poder, processo de desenvolvimento, terceiro realidade linguística da comunidade surda e por fim o último tópico que é a análise de dados, nesta parte será revelado a precariedade que o acadêmico surdo passa diariamente com o processo lento do desenvolvimento linguístico, que influencia no cognitivo do acadêmico surdo. 2023-12-20T13:45:33Z 2023-12-20T13:45:33Z 2023-12-20 Monografia VALE, Thaynara de Souza.
