Socio-economic expansion as a result of the development of industrial and agricultural sectors, together with population growth, has considerably amplified the demand of natural resources, especially for water, which is reflected in urban streams. Therefore, this study describes changes in vegetation cover along the Mutuca stream, located in the municipality of Gurupi-TO, from 2000 to 2020 and its relationship with water conservation using Landsat 5 and satellite images 8, TM and OLI sensor respectively and dialogue with residents of the region. The results showed the chance in vegetation cover in the Mutuca stream basin over the years, with the replacement of forest formation by grassland formation. From the dialogue with the residents, it was observed the intense changes that happened in the stream from the year 2000, with changes in the composition and abundance of trees and abundance of water.
