Resumo:
The objective of this work is to identify the characteristics of closed horizontal condominiums in the city of Porto Nacional-TO. This is a descriptive, bibliographical and documentary based research, with a survey of secondary data, which point out the characteristics of closed horizontal condominiums in the city of Porto Nacional. When we observe the urban conformation of Brazilian cities, we can verify the gradual expansion of closed horizontal condominiums. Its expansion is recent in the city of Porto Nacional, considering that these urban spaces have undergone a rapid urbanization process, culminating in the intensification of these new housing standards throughout the Brazilian national territory. There are two types of housing that fit this classification, namely the Porto Leman Residential Closed Condominium and the Lake Side Club Residence condominium. They emerged from the market need for people with higher income looking for housing further away from central areas, who seek quality of life and security as their main attributes. It is linked to a safe place, with open spaces for common use, the presence of green areas, leisure areas, equipment, services and with homogeneity and social status. In this way, the aim is to live safely, without giving up the comfort of single-family homes. The implementation of Horizontal Closed Condominiums in the city of Porto Nacional-TO was facilitated due to the large presence of trees and the passage of the Tocantins River in the coastal regions. There are still many riverside and wooded places, constituting a favorable possibility for the implantation of new undertakings like these.
