Thus, this research plays a crucial role in documenting and analyzing the impacts of urbanization and deterritorialization on the respective traditional communities, increasing understanding of the challenges these people face, but also highlighting the importance of preserving cultural and territorial identities in a rapidly changing world. In addition, the research highlights the resilience and determination of this community in their struggle to maintain their roots and their history, despite the pressures of urbanization. Recognition of these struggles is essential for the promotion of fairer and more inclusive public policies that take into account the needs and rights of traditional communities in a context of continuous urbanization. The former residents of the village of Canela, who are now living in an urban space. The de-territorialization of the residents of the village of Canela, which was located on the right bank of the Tocantins River, was a traumatic process of forced displacement from a riverside community with a strong cultural identity to a distant urban area. This began with the construction of the Luís Eduardo Magalhães Hydroelectric Power Station, which flooded the old village and forced the residents to move to the city of Palmas-TO. After being relocated to Quadra 508 Norte, the residents faced difficulties adapting to a new way of life and preserving their cultural identity, as this forced change led to a loss of cultural identity and a move away from the community's traditional way of life. However, over time, they were reterritorialized in the urban space and managed to reorganize their activities and traditions, such as the celebration of the Divine Holy Spirit, so the community was reterritorializing itself and creating new bonds of identity with the city, preserving its culture and traditions in the midst of adapting to the urban environment. Public policies to preserve the cultural identity of the residents of Canela are important in this process of reterritorialization, which is why it should involve creating laws to protect cultural heritage, as well as carrying out studies to map and catalogue cultural expressions and encouraging the celebration of traditional festivals. Este estudo foi desenvolvido com base em análise dos fenômenos socioterritoriais realizados com objetivo de analisar o processo de desterritorialização dos moradores de povoado Canela e sua reterritorialização no Espaço Urbano de Palmas – TO. Assim, esta pesquisa desempenha um papel crucial ao documentar e analisar os impactos da urbanização e da desterritorialização na respectiva comunidade tradicional, aumentando a compreensão dos desafios que esse povo enfrentou, mas também destaca a importância da preservação das identidades culturais e territoriais em um mundo em rápida mudança. Além disso, a pesquisa ressalta a resistência e a determinação dessa comunidade em sua luta para manter suas raízes e sua história, apesar das pressões da urbanização. O reconhecimento dessas lutas é essencial para a promoção de políticas públicas mais justas e inclusivas que considerem as necessidades e os direitos das comunidades tradicionais em um contexto de urbanização contínua. Os antigos moradores do povoado Canela, e que atualmente estão inseridos em um espaço urbano. A desterritorialização dos moradores do povoado Canela, que ficava localizado à margem direita do Rio Tocantins, foi um processo traumático de deslocamento forçado de uma comunidade ribeirinha com forte identidade cultural para uma área urbana distante. Esse iniciou-se com a construção da Usina Hidrelétrica Luís Eduardo Magalhães, que inundou o antigo povoado e forçou os moradores a se mudarem para a cidade de Palmas-TO. Após serem realocados na Quadra 508 Norte, os moradores enfrentaram dificuldades para se adaptarem a um novo modo de vida e para preservar sua identidade cultural, pois essa mudança forçada gerou perda da identidade cultural e afastamento do modo de vida tradicional da comunidade. No entanto, com o passar do tempo, eles foram reterritorializados no espaço urbano e conseguiram reorganizar suas atividades e tradições, como a celebração do Divino Espírito Santo, assim, a comunidade foi se reterritorializando e criando novos laços de identidade com a cidade, preservando sua cultura e tradições em meio à adaptação ao ambiente urbano.
