Commonly, the Mathematics teacher is faced with the students' lack of interest in the classes, often associated with the difficulty in assimilating the contents by themselves. To avoid this situation, it is interesting that the teacher seeks didactic and methodological means that motivate students to become interested in the discipline. As a researcher in the area, the History of Mathematics can be effective in awakening this interest and stimulating learning, as a didactic resource. In this sense and in view of the importance of guaranteeing statistical knowledge to Basic Education students, the main objective of this work is to propose didactic activities that use history as a didactic resource in the teaching and learning of statistical
content in the 9th year of Elementary School, foreseen in the National Curricular Parameters (PCN) and in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). The studies and results presented prove that the use of the History of Mathematics, as a teaching and learning tool, is possible and has great potential to stimulate student learning in a more pleasant, creative and humane way. |
