The present work deals with History Teaching from the perspective of gender
relations. It has been prepared based on five workshops held in 2018 with students
from the freshman year “E”, High School, from the Graça Aranha Teaching Center, a
school located in Imperatriz - MA. Its main goal is to analyze how students perceive
the power relations that were established in the history of Brazilian family, based on
the gender of individuals and the multiple factors that contributed to the
transformation of this social institution. For the construction of the data, text
productions and oral exhibitions collected in the workshops were used. Therefore,
the paper discusses how the subjects mobilize historical awareness about the
proposed questions. As a result, it suggests a didactic-pedagogical methodology that
proposes the execution of workshops in which the images contained in textbooks,
especially historical representations of families, are the subject of gender issues
discussions in the classroom. Such proposal, for having shown satisfactory results
with the class, can be used by teachers and professors of History in other institutions. |
