Brazilian agribusiness is an economic activity of great relevance, being responsible for
supplying food throughout the country. To ensure efficiency in logistics processes, it is crucial
to understand the factors that influence the choice of transport modes in this sector. By
understanding these factors, companies can adopt strategies that result in the selection of the
most appropriate modal, promoting greater efficiency and cost reduction. The study aims to
analyze the main factors that influence the choice of agribusiness transport modes. To achieve
the proposed objective, a comparative analysis of the multicriteria decision-making methods
Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Preference Ranking Organization Method for
Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE II) was carried out, applied to the identification of
factors that influence the choice of transport modes for agribusiness. The factors identified, in
descending order of importance, that determine the choice of modal are availability, cost,
capacity, reliability and speed. The modal identified as the best option for the disposal of
agribusiness products, in the analyzed scenario, was the road.
