The objective is to understand the culture of violence in Goiás, starting from how criminality was defined as crime in the news, in which locality what was defined as crime in the news, highlighting the Boa Vista episode, which is much commented on in the newspaper. To achieve these objectives, a bibliographical discussion was carried out, focusing on an interdisciplinary hermeneutic analysis and mobilizing concepts to direct the research. In addition to identifying the places with the highest crime rate, we sought to map the profile of the social actors who are carried out in crime reports. Parts than all places where most places and the physical force of the supply would not be more evident as “territories or violence of the Saints”, as Thousand places would say the culture of violence were more places and the physical force of Promoting the domestication of the bodies, as Foucault would say (2014) and maintain the public safety. O presente trabalho analisa as representações sobre a criminalidade na imprensa goiana no final do século XIX e início do século XX, tomando como base o jornal o Estado de Goiaz: Orgam do Partido Republicano. O objetivo centrou-se em entender a territorialização da cultura e da violência no Goiás, partindo da questão de como a criminalidade era representada nas notícias, em qual localidade e o que era definido como crime, dando destaque ao episódio de Boa Vista, que é muito comentado no jornal. Para alcançar tais objetivos, realizou-se uma discussão bibliográfica, enfocando uma análise hermenêutica interdisciplinar e mobilizando conceitos ao direcionamento da pesquisa. Além de identificar os lugares com maior índice de criminalidade, buscou-se mapear o perfil dos fatores sociais, envolvidos nos relatos de crimes. Partimos do pressuposto de que, lugares com um nível de criminalidade maior podem ser compreendidos por “territórios opacos”, como diria Milton Santos (2006), visto que nesses lugares a cultura da violência estava mais evidente, e a força física do Estado não era suficiente para promover a domesticação dos corpos, como enunciado por Foucault (2014), e manter a segurança pública. 2024-02-08T17:56:33Z 2024-02-08T17:56:33Z 2024-02-08 BARROS,Andreia Pereira.
