This work deals with an applied research that addresses the development of two software for
pre-dimensioning structures, one of which refers to steel and the other to wood. The study aimed
to demonstrate in a practical way, the integration of computational software with civil
engineering, whether in an academic or professional context. For that, the Java programming
language was used associated with external components raised in the theoretical framework,
also through adapted scripts for pre-dimensioning steel and wood structures arranged in the
bibliography. From the elaboration of the systems, it was possible to verify the importance of
pre-dimensioning, which, incorporated to an adequate tool, can allow the user to be more
dynamic and assertive in their professional performance, optimizing time and resources in
attracting clients and developing projects. The conclusive considerations on the study reveal a
field of application little explored in such a specific way, in addition to encouraging future work
to improve such systems, and to increasingly strengthen the relationship between areas such as
computing and engineering |
