It can be treated conservatively or surgically, with several methods available to correct this condition. The selection of the treatment method must be based on the patient's individual characteristics, considering several factors such as age, weight, size and other associated comorbidities. This article aims to report a case of a beagle dog with cranial cruciate ligament rupture associated with mitral valve insufficiency, which had no recommendation for surgical intervention, and conservative treatment through physiotherapy was chosen. As the physiotherapy sessions progressed, it was possible to notice a reduction in the clinical signs of the condition, demonstrating the efficiency of the conservative method in the treatment of cranial cruciate ligament rupture. A ruptura de ligamento cranial (RLCCr) é uma das lesões ortopédicas mais comuns do membro pélvico do cão, sendo a principal razão de claudicação nessa espécie e a maior causa de doença articular degenerativa da articulação do joelho. Pode ser tratada de modo conservador ou cirúrgico, dispondo de vários métodos para a correção desta afecção. A escolha do método de tratamento deve ser realizada com base nas características individuais do paciente, considerando diversos fatores como a idade, peso, porte e outras comorbidades associadas. Este trabalho tem como objetivo relatar um caso de um cão da raça beagle com ruptura total do ligamento cruzado cranial associado à insuficiência da válvula mitral, que não tinha recomendação de intervenção cirúrgica, e optou-se pelo tratamento conservador através de fisioterapia.
