Resumo:
The work is linked to the Postgraduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Tocantins (PPGE/UFT), in the line of Curriculum, Teacher Training, and Teaching Knowledge. The research aimed to investigate the actions, projects, and programs that protect women in Tocantins. Violence against women is a persistent problem in society and is one of the main violations of Human Rights, considered the result of a cultural construction involving different social factors. In view of this, through bibliographical and documentary research, this study aims to analyze how the State – executive, legislative, and judiciary – and organized civil society have acted in an integrated way to promote educational actions that raise awareness about the Maria da Penha Law in public spaces. The State Coordination of Women in Situations of Domestic and Family Violence – CEVID, a permanent body of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins, was created through TJTO Resolution No. 01, of January 11, 2012, with the task of preparing and implementing public policies related to women in situations of domestic and family violence. Furthermore, it analyzes how such public policies contribute to the promotion of women's rights and the reduction of gender inequalities as a way of preventing such crimes against women in the State of Tocantins.
