Resumo:
This study examines the public policies of inclusive education implemented in the State of Tocantins, aiming to ensure that all students, regardless of their abilities, have access to quality education. The research addresses the importance of educational inclusion, a fundamental principle that aims to guarantee equal opportunities in the school environment. The study maps and analyzes academic literature, legislation, and educational practices related to the inclusion of students with disabilities in Tocantins. It analyzes the current public policies, identifies gaps in their implementation, and evaluates the results achieved so far. Among the identified advances are the adoption of inclusive pedagogical practices and the adaptation of school infrastructures to better meet the needs of all students. However, the research also identifies several challenges. The effective implementation of these policies faces barriers, such as the lack of adequate teacher training and insufficient material and human resources. Additionally, the need for continuous monitoring and greater engagement of stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of inclusion policies is highlighted. The study's results provide a comprehensive overview of the progress and challenges in promoting inclusive education in Tocantins. It includes the identification of best practices, analysis of existing barriers, and recommendations to improve the effectiveness of public policies. The research significantly contributes to the knowledge about inclusive education in the regional context, offering valuable information for policymakers, educators, and other interested parties. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of a continuous commitment and constant monitoring of public policies to ensure that educational inclusion is a reality accessible to all students in the State of Tocantins.
