Resumo:
The festival of Santas Almas Benditas is a festival rooted in a region that covers four cities in Tocantins: Monte do Carmo, Silvanópolis and Ipueiras (in which this festival was studied). This festival has been going on for approximately 300 years, it has a congada ritual, with costumes that create an event with its choreographies, rituals and dances. The Ipueiras religious festival brings many participants from cities in the state of Tocantins: Divinópolis, Paraíso, Pugmil, (among others) and even from other states such as Maranhão and Mato Grosso. In this present work, many supernatural experiences that occurred during this festival were reported. During this study we learned about the itinerary of the festival. It has a high level of commitment from the population of Ipueiras, who actively participate in preparing for the celebration throughout the year; whether in rehearsals, clothing and other preparations. We can consider the festival of the Holy Blessed Souls to be beneficial, as it contributes to local commerce, the flow of visitors increases significantly, and the supernatural and spiritual are reported by many participants.
