Edentulism, the total loss of natural teeth, has significant consequences on the general health and quality of life of completely toothless patients, justifying the involvement of all members of the Family Health Strategy (Estratégia Saúde da Família - ESF) and the Multiprofessional Team (Equipe Multiprofissional - eMulti) in geriatric care. This article aims to analyze how oral health care for fully edentulous elderly individuals is promoted by professionals working in Primary Health Care, with a focus on interprofessional work and the perspective of the elderly themselves. This is a qualitative study conducted from May to June 2024 through semi-structured interviews and focus groups with elderly individuals and professionals from a Family Health Unit (USF) in Palmas. Among the conclusions, interprofessionality is highlighted as a practice that does not reach the elderly and is not implemented, according to the professionals themselves, due to weaknesses in their training. This research outcome led to the development of a technical-technological product (PTT): the “Quick Guide to the Interprofessional Management of Edentulous Elderly for Primary Health Care Professionals without Dental Training.” This PTT is a tool to guide different professional categories in individual and/or collective clinical situations that require a collaborative and interprofessional approach with dental professionals, aiming to improve the overall health of edentulous patients. O envelhecimento populacional requer políticas públicas que garantam qualidade de vida aos idosos, a partir da prevenção, da promoção e do cuidado integral à saúde, na perspectiva de prática colaborativa interprofissional nos processos de trabalho da Atenção Primária, no Sistema Único de Saúde. O edentulismo, definido como a perda total dos dentes naturais, tem consequências impactantes na saúde geral e qualidade de vida dos pacientes desdentados totais, o que justifica o envolvimento de todos os membros da equipe da Estratégia Saúde da Família e equipe Multiprofissional no cuidado ao idoso. Logo, objetivou-se analisar como os cuidados à saúde bucal dos idosos desdentados totais são promovidos pelos profissionais que atuam na Atenção Primária à Saúde, tendo como referência o trabalho interprofissional e a perspectiva do próprio idoso. Trata-se de estudo com abordagem qualitativa, realizado de maio a junho de 2024, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas e grupos focais com idosos e profissionais de uma USF em Palmas, Brasil. Utilizada análise temática de Minayo para análise dos dados. Dentre os resultados, aponta-se a interprofissionalidade como prática não percebida pelos idosos enquanto cuidado e não executada, na visão dos próprios profissionais, devido às fragilidades de formação. Este resultado de pesquisa motivou a elaboração do Produto Técnico-Tecnológico (PTT): o “Guia Rápido de Manejo Interprofissional de idosos edêntulos para Profissionais da Atenção Primária em Saúde sem formação Odontológica”.
