Resumo:
This article addresses the role of the family in early childhood education and its importance for the selection of the behavioral repertoire: an interpretation from the perspective of Radical Behaviorism. Its objective is to analyze the contributions of research that demonstrate the relevance of the family environment in early childhood education for the selection and strengthening of adaptive behavioral repertoires. For this purpose, an integrative literature review methodology was used, organized and analyzed through the Thematic Content Analysis technique. The results indicated that a quality family environment, characterized by active parental interaction, planned control of contingencies, reinforcement of desirable behaviors, dialogue and positive reinforcement, favors the development of an adaptive and functional behavioral repertoire. This study also presented practical strategies for families to promote positive behavioral development and improve children's learning. It is concluded that a structured, affectionate and cooperative family environment is essential for the development of a healthy children's behavioral repertoire, reinforcing the importance of family collaboration in the formative process of children.
