The intense growth of cities experienced worldwide has been accompanied by growing economic interposition, social and especially environmental. Macapa, Amapa state capital has followed this trend, with over the years a significant population growth and illegal occupation of wetlands, known in the region as hangovers, and urban river waterfront, where social and environmental order problems become more significant . Due to this panorama the present study directed to the area of Aturiá in the neighborhood of Araxá, bathed by the Amazon River. Through theoretical study, a field research and the application form to the residents of this area, the social conditions were raised, infrastructure and sanitation, as well as verification of the social tools available to residents. The results point to the precarious housing conditions, disabilities sanitation, high rates of poverty and violence that have favored the environmental and social degradation of the population. Through the State Government's housing program in partnership with the Federal Government these families will be relocated to the so-called Aturiá set, thus causing an urban void in the region. To meet this need, the proposed Redevelopment of the area is the most suitable providing all conditions and this expressed as high tourism potential. |
