The research was conducted in the community of Quilombo de Murumuru Remnants located in the municipality of Santarém-PA, through direct observation and interviews with eight farmers. Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is one of the main species cultivated in the Amazon and is basically the food of the traditional people. In the quilombo two practices of conservation of seed cranes are used the low and the muffled. The decollete consists in leaving part of the field to compose the next one and its purpose is the production of manioc and cassava, while the stifled consists in keeping the seed cranes out of the production area by drowning them with leaves or not under the forest. Given the scenario of major changes in agricultural systems, quilombolas use these two practices as conservation strategies for their agrobiodiversity to maintain the diversity of their agricultural systems, the family economy and, especially, traditional quilombola knowledge. Este trabalho tem como objetivo abordar sobre as técnicas de conservação da agrobiodiversidade praticados em comunidades tradicionais. A pesquisa foi realizada na comunidade de Remanescentes de Quilombo de Murumuru situada no município de Santarém-PA, por meio de observação direta e entrevistas realizadas com oito agricultores. A mandioca (Manihot esculenta Crantz) é uma das principais espécies cultivadas na Amazônia e constitui basicamente a alimentação dos povos tradicionais. No quilombo duas práticas de conservação de manivas-semente são utilizadas o decotado e o abafado. O decotado consiste em deixar parte da roça para compor a próxima e tem como finalidade a produção de manivas e mandioca, enquanto o abafado consiste em conservar as manivas-semente fora da área de produção abafando-as com folhas ou não embaixo da mata. Diante do cenário a grandes mudanças dos sistemas agrícolas, os quilombolas utilizam essas duas práticas como estratégias de conservação de sua agrobiodiversidade para manter a diversidade de seus sistemas agrícolas, a economia familiar e, principalmente os saberes tradicionais quilombola. 2024-01-18T22:27:27Z 2024-01-18T22:27:27Z 2019-12-13 TCC PEREIRA, Andréa Lima.
