Resumo:
This work has as objective to expose and discuss the criticism made by Joseph Schumpeter in his book Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy, to which he is entitled classic doctrine of democracy, and some of their counterpoints. Schumpeter builds his criticism by defining what he represents the model of classical doctrine, and attempts to deconstrued it attacking what he says is the main foundation of the theory: the common good. To build his criticism of the author rejects the assumptions of the classical doctrine and its values, and seeks to highlight the impossibility of the existence of a common good for all individuals. He builds an analysis method that enables closer to the factual reality and describe democracy as it is. In spite of his theory have an elitist character, Schumpeter draws attention to the undemocratic decisions, and strongly criticizes the notion of popular will, as if uses of social psychology studies to justify their conception on human nature in politics.
