CNPQ:: LINGÜÍSTICA, LETRAS E ARTE Literature in the educational environment is a possibility that transmits experiences, knowledge, cultures, and new identities, providing the student with different vocabularies and grammatical structures that provide the development of orality, writing and reflections about the world, real or present in books. In this way, this study tried to analyze and reflect the use of literature in English language classes in a language school in Santarem-PA. The study used the work of Raquel Jaramillo Palacio, “Wonder”, first published in 2012, in English classes, adding language teaching and literature. The information was collected from questionnaires regarding the linguistic and literary preferences of the students, oral and written activities, and finally a reflective questionnaire about the students' experience with the classes. The results show that literature can be used in English classes as a way of motivating students to read, write and reflect on the social and school environment where they are inserted, contributing to the expansion of their curiosities and interests. A literatura no campo da educação vislumbra infinitas possibilidades que transmitam experiências, conhecimentos, culturas e novas identidades, oferecendo ao aluno diferentes vocabulários e estruturas gramaticais que proporcionam o desenvolvimento da oralidade, escrita e das reflexões acerca do mundo, seja ele real ou o presente nos livros. Assim, este estudo buscou por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa analisar e refletir o uso da literatura nas aulas da língua inglesa em uma escola de idiomas de Santarém-PA, usando a obra de Raquel Jaramillo Palacio, Wonder, publicada pela primeira vez em 2012, para aplicar nas aulas de inglês, fazendo junção entre ensino da língua e literatura. Os dados foram gerados a partir de questionários que diziam respeito às preferências linguísticas e literárias dos alunos, atividades orais e escritas, e por fim um questionário reflexivo acerca da experiência dos alunos com as aulas.
