Resumo:
The present paper consists of the analysis and investigation of the possibility of applying the concept of Restorative Justice and self-composition methods in the management and treatment of social, environmental conflicts in traditional communities in the Amazon. Considering the dynamics and complexity of social environmental conflicts, the territorial dynamics and power relations that permeate conflicting scenarios in the Amazon and, also considering the significant results of the application of restorative practices and self-compositional methods in conflict management in different fields, an attempt was made to respond the following question: To what extent can the concept of Restorative Justice and the use of self-composition methods contribute to the management and treatment of social environmental damage in traditional communities in the Amazon?. Thus, the main objective of this research is to investigate the conditions and possibilities of applying the restorative approach and self-compositional methods in social and environmental conflict scenarios in traditional communities, seeking to contribute to discussions about mechanisms capable of effectively and concretely treating damage and traumas that emerge in the midst of conflict scenarios in the Amazon. For this, the theoretical-methodological contribution of applied social sciences was used, involving contributions from anthropology and legal disciplines, thus investigating, interweaving knowledge that allowed the interdisciplinary and qualitative approach of this research. Furthermore, a bibliographic-documentary survey and a literature review pertaining to restorative justice, self-compositional methods, social, environmental conflicts, territorial dynamics and power relations were carried out.
