Resumo:
This paper focusses the teaching of History and of cultural practices of the Jaraki People in the São Francisco Indigenous School. It is about a research that pretends do understand the process of Indigenous Education in which the history of the people interlinks the school reality and everyday life. Therefore, the founding process of the village, which so far hasn’t been object of any research, will be clarified, using Oral History as main sources for the research and basing it on key concepts like tradition or culture. The teaching-learning of the Jaraki People History within the classroom contributes, this is the hypothesis, to valorise the indigenous culture with the historic formation of the local population living in the region of the Arapins River in Wester Pará.
