Today, the mining became extremilly necessary to surviving and it is not possible to get a any technologicol, social or human development without its. In favour of the necessity of mineral use, more and more the mining grow up e, thereby, it needs for workers. However, in many locations where the mining explores the minerals there are not enough skilled labour to meet this demands. Thus, it is necessary that the mining company invests in education of that county where operates for improve the workforce and to get them. Cases like this are very common, although, in a few ocasions heve not the due divulgation or treatment about it. In Juruti-PA, a large exemple of this is the colaboration made between the mining company Alcoa and the educational institution SENAI, wich through professional qualification heve been gradueted several professionals to operete in the local Market. Given this fact, an attempt was made to study about the improvement wich the mining has been made in the educational development of Juruti county, reflecting in the number of people reached and benefited for that relationship. For this, was done the application of a questionnaire to the local people in order to achieve the most involvement as possible of the egressed students, besides to do use of bibliographic and documentery research to get the number of the vacancies and courses offering since of the opening the educational institution. The got it results through the reseach show up the biggest contribution wich that relationship created to the county and the people of Juruti about the educational development and the qualified professional training. Moreover, it was possible to know the profile and employment situation of the egressed students. Therefore, it is considered that this investigation was very revelent to the society and academic community who will be able to take benefits with this informations gathered through this reseach. A indústria mineral é uma das atividades econômicas essenciais para o desenvolvimento da humanidade. Desde a pré-história, os primeiros hominídeos já faziam uso de utensílios que tinham o emprego de recursos minerais e, após isso, foi-se cada vez mais adotando os minérios e minerais ao dia a dia da civilização humana. Hoje, a mineração se tornou extremamente necessária para a sobrevivência e sem a qual não é possível obter nenhum desenvolvimento tecnológico, social e humano. Em prol da necessidade do uso de recursos minerais, cada vez mais a mineração cresce e, com isso, demandando de mão de obra. Entretanto, em grande parte das localidades onde a mineração explora os minérios não há mão de obra qualificada o suficiente para atender à sua demanda. Deste modo, é preciso que a empresa minerária invista na educação do município onde atua no intuito de gerar a mão de obra necessária e absorvê-la. Casos assim são muito comuns dentro da mineração, entretanto, em poucas ocasiões há a devida divulgação ou abordagem sobre o assunto. Em Juruti-PA, um exemplo forte disso é dado através da parceria realizada entre a mineradora Alcoa e a instituição de ensino SENAI, que por meio da qualificação profissional já formou diversos profissionais para atuarem no mercado de trabalho local. Em vista disso, buscou-se, por meio deste trabalho, realizar um estudo acerca da contribuição que a mineração ocasionou no desenvolvimento educacional do município de Juruti, refletindo sobre a quantidade de pessoas alcançadas e beneficiadas por meio dessa parceria. Para isso, foi realizada a aplicação de um questionário para a população local a fim de alcançar a maior participação possível de egressos, além do uso de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental para se obter os quantitativos de vagas e cursos ofertados desde a implantação da instituição de ensino. Os resultados obtidos por meio da pesquisa revelaram a grande contribuição que essa parceria gerou para o município e para a população de Juruti no desenvolvimento educacional e na formação profissional qualificada. Além disso, foi possível traçar o perfil e situação empregatícia dos egressos.
