Acorjuve's organization was also essential in the process of resisting the installation of mining company Alcoa in its territory and in the struggle to receive and manage royalties from bauxite mining since 2010. This thesis analyzes how these resources, received by the mentioned entity they were absorbed in the traditional system of gifts that move the circuit of exchanges of material and immaterial goods among the residents of the region. In addition, it identifies and analyzes conflicts and political articulation processes motivated by the insertion of money in the communities and by the dissensions around the royalty management model. In view of the pressure exerted by different institutions to adopt an “ideal model” for the management of these resources, the entity has been fighting for the maintenance of its “native model” for the use and distribution of money and goods among its representatives, based on exchange relations linked to local networks and averse to bureaucratic and formal-legal logics. It is proposed, based on ethnographic research and participant observation, a reflection based on the gift theory to understand this “native model” and the relationships that support it. The research showed how members express dilemmas about the use and management of financial resources, which proved to be a catalyst for changes in interpersonal relationships in different fields of power, highlighting Acorjuve's own movement to guarantee (or) reinforce the legitimacy of their political self-representation. It is concluded that the way the money from royalties is used and distributed - the “native model” - cannot be seen as a way of weakening the bonds that support social relations, the sense of collectivity and participation; in fact, this model is a strong expression of the movement of the most fundamental social institutions there, operating to strengthen a certain cultural logic and to resist the logic of capital, which is increasingly inserted in communities. CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior A mobilização de 47 comunidades em Juruti - PA resultou na fundação da Associação das Comunidades Reunidas de Juruti Velho (Acorjuve) e na criação do Projeto de Assentamento Agroextrativista Juruti Velho, possibilitando às comunidades obter o título coletivo da terra. A organização da Acorjuve foi, ainda, essencial no processo de resistência à instalação da mineradora Alcoa em seu território e na luta para receber e gerir os royalties da mineração de bauxita a partir de 2010. Esta tese analisa como esses recursos, recebidos pela citada entidade foram absorvidos no sistema tradicional de dons e contradons que movimentam o circuito de trocas de bens materiais e imateriais entre os moradores da região. Além disso, identifica e analisa conflitos e processos de articulação política motivados pela inserção de dinheiro nas comunidades e pelas dissensões em torno do modelo de gestão dos royalties. Diante da pressão exercida por diferentes instituições para adotar um “modelo ideal” de gestão desses recursos, a entidade tem lutado pela manutenção do seu “modelo nativo” de uso e distribuição de dinheiro e bens entre seus representados, baseado em relações de troca atreladas às redes locais e avesso às lógicas burocráticas e formais-legais. Propõe-se, a partir de pesquisa etnográfica e observação participante, uma reflexão fundada na teoria do dom para compreender esse “modelo nativo” e as relações que o sustentam. A pesquisa mostrou como os associados expressam dilemas acerca do uso e gestão do recurso financeiro, que se mostrou um catalisador de mudanças nas relações interpessoais em diferentes campos de poder, destacando-se o próprio movimento da Acorjuve para garantir (ou) reforçar a legitimidade de sua autorrepresentação política. Conclui-se que a forma como o dinheiro proveniente dos royalties é utilizado e distribuído – o “modelo nativo” – não pode ser visto como uma forma de enfraquecimento dos vínculos que sustentam as relações sociais, o sentido de coletividade e de participação; com efeito, tal modelo configura-se em uma contundente expressão do movimento das instituições sociais mais fundamentais ali existentes, operando para o fortalecimento da uma determinada lógica cultural e para a resistência à lógica do capital, que se insere cada vez mais nas comunidades. 2021-02-24T19:00:35Z 2021-02-24T19:00:35Z 2020-06-05 Thesis DEMEDA, Kátia Solange do Nascimento.
