Resumo:
The large enterprises in the Amazônia that commonly originate from development plans created by public agents, are often central points of great discussions, as they arouse interest in various segments of society. Looking at past events and even the execution of large current projects, he realizes that the most relevant projects for the region, benefit capital holders more than the local population itself. This research has as main objective to analyze the environmental and socioeconomic effects of the waterway transport works implemented by PAC in the Amazon, for this it sought to identify how the territorial planning is projected in the PAC waterway investment plans, to understand the public policies arising from the carrying out the PAC works in the region and assessing how these investments impacted and will impact on the region's environmental and socioeconomic development. The area covered by the survey is located mainly on the Madeira River and Tapajós-Teles Pires. Using the technique of content analysis, with qualitative and quantitative characteristics, in order to describe the policies proposed by the PAC and demonstrate the relationship between the Amazon and the river and how the introduction of new tactics in the environment affects the territory and finally demonstrated a analysis of simple linear correlation of the investments made by the PAC in waterways with the tons of products drained by the Amazonian waterways, in a descriptive and comparative way of the secondary data extracted mainly from public documents of the federal government. Among the main results found, 62 municipalities in the Legal Amazon would be affected by the construction works of waterway terminals or by the widening of the navigability of the Amazônas River, Madeira, Tocantins and Tapajós corridors. Also perceiving a moderate relationship between PAC investments in waterways and the flow of production on inland waterways.
