Resumo:
To identify the frequency of accidents at work (AW), the time away from workplace of the workers in State of Amapá and the creation of normality curve. Methods: Cross-sectional study, based on data from the corporate systems of the brazilian National Social Security Institute from 2008 to 2012. Results: It was evaluated 10,216 benefits granted by the agencies of the Social Security of Amapá, of which 1,697 were by AW. The most frequent pathologies were external causes (71.7%), followed by the musculoskeletal disorders (18.6%). The sample had a general mean of 63.2 days away from work. The longer recovery time of pathology was due to external causes with 67.9 days, followed by endocrine diseases with 65.0 days. Conclusion: The AW pattern varies according to the region, thus, knowing the factors that make workers more vulnerable and the pathologies that culminate in a longer period of keeping away may reduce the absenteeism due to accidents.
