This objective was accomplished through the use of geotechnologies, specifically in the methodological procedure of supervised classification of Landsat 5 and 8 satellite images to elaborate the mapping of land use and cover, besides this the normalized vegetation index (NDVI) was also applied. To obtain through the mapping the evolution of the vegetation cover during the study period in order to understand the process of deforestation and its implications in the formation of heat islands and in the increase of surface temperature, to understand this variable, the extraction procedure of the Temperature gradient in ° C. All these procedures were developed in specific programs, applied to the analysis from remote sensors. The results were obtained successfully, verifying the behavior of the vegetation over more than thirty years, identifying the critical areas of deforestation and relating the areas of exposed soil and the increase of urbanization and urban growth with the formation of heat islands, In addition, it was found that the vegetation regressed significantly, and the exposed soil area more than tripled from 8% in 1984 to 32% in 2015 and that in such areas the temperature ranges from 31 to 51.1 ° W. CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior O referido estudo foi desenvolvido no período de 1984 a 2015 na região Metropolitana de Belém do Pará, com o objetivo de avaliar o comportamento da temperatura superficial da região metropolitana de Belém do Pará, com a finalidade de acrescentar novos subsídios ao desenvolvimento de estratégias para o planejamento urbano da região metropolitana de Belém, por meio da utilização de sistemas de informações geográficas - SIG e sensoriamento remoto como instrumentos de estudo da formação de ilhas de calor no ambiente urbano, mapeando a evolução histórica da cobertura vegetal e do uso do solo, relacionando à trajetória de crescimento urbano com as consequentes mudanças na paisagem e o processo de uso do solo. Tal objetivo foi realizado através da utilização de geotecnologias, especificamente no procedimento metodológico de classificação supervisionada de imagens de satélite Landsat 5 e 8 para elaborar o mapeamento de uso e cobertura da terra, além desta aplicou-se também o índice de vegetação normalizada – NDVI para obter através do mapeamento a evolução da cobertura vegetal ao longo do período de estudo visando entender o processo de desflorestamento e suas implicâncias na formação de ilhas de calor e no aumento da temperatura superficial, para compreender tal variável, utilizou-se o procedimento de extração do gradiente de temperatura em °C. Todos esses procedimentos foram desenvolvidos em programas específicos, aplicados a análise a partir de sensores remotos. Os resultados foram obtidos com sucesso, verificando o comportamento da vegetação ao longo de mais de trinta anos, identificando as áreas criticas de desflorestamento e relacionando as áreas de solo exposto e o aumento da urbanização e o crescimento urbano com a formação de ilhas de calor, além disso, constatou-se que a vegetação regrediu significativamente, e a área de solo exposto mais do que triplicou saindo de 8% em 1984 para 32% em 2015 e que em tais áreas a temperatura apresenta-se entre 31 a 51,1°C. 2018-06-12T18:08:12Z 2018-06-12T18:08:12Z 2017-01-04 Dissertação BRAGA, Thais Gleice Martins.
