For this, it contemplating theory and practice and re-signifies technical action by the Progressive (social) action of the librarian. This is a theoretical research, with a critical and interpretative approach, based on the thinking of Jürgen Habermas on communicative action and based on the hermeneutical characterization, which tries to develop in the discursive action, in the intersubjective dialogue of Librarianship and in the social role of the librarian. The study show that it is necessary to lead librarians closer to the social, with mediation discursive practices, and to build contributions to think beyond the instrumental aporias and to go beyond the paradigms that are instituted. Through communicative reasons, the reform of the constructs (instrumental) of the ideology of the technique comes to tow, in the perspective of making users more autonomous. Therefore, although it is an interpretative base study, one can assert the progressive and critical librarianship is a starting point for other studies, an open path to information science and its epistemological base studies. O artigo aborda a prática intersubjetiva na Biblioteconomia e a ação progressista, com o fim de encontrar pistas sobre a receptividade que envolve essa ciência como uma área humanística, institui os pensamentos críticos e emancipatórios visando os laços da cooperatividade. Para isso, contempla a teoria e a prática e ressignifica a ação técnica pela ação progressista (social) do bibliotecário. Trata-se de uma pesquisa teórica, de abordagem crítica e interpretativa, com base no pensamento de Jürgen Habermas sobre a ação comunicativa e pautada na caracterização hermenêutica, que tenta se desenvolver na ação discursiva, no diálogo intersubjetivo da Biblioteconomia e no papel social do bibliotecário. O estudo mostrou que é necessário conduzir os profissionais bibliotecários para mais perto do social, com mediação e práticas discursivas, e edificar aportes para que pensem para além das aporias instrumentais e façam além dos paradigmas que são instituídos. Por intermédio das razões comunicativas, vem a reboque a reforma dos construtos (instrumentais) da ideologia da técnica, na perspectiva de tornar os usuários sujeitos mais autônomos. Portanto, embora seja um estudo de base interpretativa, pode-se afirmar a Biblioteconomia progressista e crítica é um ponto de partida para outros estudos, um caminho aberto para a Ciência da Informação e seus estudos de base epistemológica CASTRO, J.
