The research was developed based on Guy Brousseau's Theory of Didactic Situations, inspired by the didactic model of Régine Douady and Marie Jeanne Perrin-Glorian, among other fundamental references for the elaboration of the didactic sequence. The approach of this research was qualitative in a methodological conception supported in the aspects of Didactic Engineering. The sequence was applied in a public school of elementary and middle, located in the metropolitan area of Belém do Pará, in a class of 25 students, from the 6th year of elementary school. The analyzes of the activities indicated that, proposing a didactic sequence that explores length in the domains of greatness and measure favors the comprehension of notions of concepts linked to greatness and measure, such as measuring, measuring need, measure, length and quantification (measure). As well as the understanding on the part of the students regarding the conversions of units of measurement and the constitution of the metric system decimal. From these results, this research generated an educational product called, didactic sequence for the teaching of length measurement. Este trabalho sobre grandezas e medidas, em particular medida de comprimento, objetivou legitimar uma sequência didática que favorecesse o ensino de medida de comprimento a partir da noção de grandeza e medida. Esta pesquisa foi desenvolvida com base na Teoria das Situações Didática de Guy Brousseau, inspirada no modelo didático de Régine Douady e Marie Jeanne Perrin-Glorian, entre outros referenciais fundamentais para elaboração da sequência didática. A abordagem desta pesquisa foi de cunho qualitativo e como percurso metodológico adotamos os aspectos da Engenharia Didática. A sequência foi aplicada em uma escola estadual de ensino fundamental e médio, localizada na região metropolitana de Belém do Pará, em uma turma de 25 alunos, do 6º ano do ensino fundamental. As análises das atividades apontaram que, propor uma sequência didática que explore o comprimento nos domínios da grandeza e da medida favorece a compreensão de noções de conceitos atrelados à grandeza e medida, como medir, necessidade de medir, medida, grandeza comprimento e sua quantificação (medida). Assim como também o entendimento por parte dos alunos em relação às conversões de unidades de medida e a constituição do sistema métrico decimal. A partir desses resultados esta pesquisa gerou um produto educacional denominado, sequência didática para o ensino de medida de comprimento.
