This study aimed to verify the stress, hopelessness and future expectations and the relationship of these variables with each other, in a sample of 295 students, high school students of a private confessional school system. The results indicated that stress interferes with the teenager's future expectations and adolescent hopelessness levels. However, most teens had low levels of stress and hopelessness. It concludes that despite the common vulnerability to the period of adolescence, it is possible to experience this phase healthily. CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior A adolescência representa um período muito importante no desenvolvimento humano e devido a sua vulnerabilidade, podem ocorrer eventos que desencadeiem o estresse e influenciem nas expectativas de futuro dos jovens. O presente estudo objetivou verificar o estresse, a desesperança e as expectativas de futuro e a relação dessas variáveis entre si, em uma mostra de 295 estudantes, alunos do Ensino Médio de uma rede confessional particular de ensino. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que o estresse interfere nas expectativas de futuro do adolescente e nos níveis de desesperança do adolescente. No entanto, a maioria dos adolescentes apresentou baixos níveis de estresse e desesperança.
