Thus, it was up to the newspaper to archive part of this important story that, in some Brazilian provinces, also witnessed harsh prospects of what intended Brazilians, as happened in Grand Pará Province, whose peculiarity focuses even before his "adherence" to independence in 1823. Therefore, we investigated some newspapers of Pará from the nineteenth century, in particular, those of the 1840s - respectively the end of Cabanagem - the 1880, the decline of Romanticism, in order to show from the perspective of literary history, such as the Grand Province - witnessed in adverse direction of the other, the lusophilia and permanence of Portuguese culture. We propose as the source the journals from Pará cataloged in the microfilm sector from Arthur Viana library, located in the Cultural Foundation of Pará, in which we find record keeping existing literary ties between Brazil and Portugal in the nineteenth century. This research will serve as a bibliographic source to those interested in historical and cultural relationship between Pará and Portugal, given that mosto of the newspapers investigated is located solely in the said Para state library, which certainly favors the little publicity about this historiographical content, besides placing Pará among the important Brazilian provinces of the nineteenth century. CNPq - Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico Há quase dois séculos da Independência do Brasil, ainda perduram no Pará alguns laços, além do idioma e da história política e cultural deixados pelos colonizadores portugueses. Destarte, coube ao jornal arquivar parte dessa importante história que, em algumas províncias brasileiras, testemunhou também perspectivas adversas do que pretendiam os brasileiros, como aconteceu na Província do Grão-Pará, cuja peculiaridade incide antes mesmo de sua “adesão” à independência, em 1823. Assim sendo, investigamos alguns jornais paraenses do século XIX, em específico, os das décadas de 1840 – respectivamente o final da Cabanagem – ao ano de 1880, declínio do Romantismo, a fim de demonstrar sob a perspectiva da historiografia literária, como a Província do Grão-Pará testemunhou, em sentido adverso das demais, a lusofilia e a permanência da cultura portuguesa. Propomos como fonte os periódicos paraenses, catalogados no setor de microfilmagem da biblioteca Arthur Viana, localizada na Fundação Cultural do Pará, nos quais encontramos registros de manutenção dos laços literários existentes entre Brasil e Portugal no século XIX. Essa pesquisa servirá como fonte bibliográfica aos interessados na relação histórico-cultural entre o Pará e Portugal, haja vista que a maior parte dos jornais investigados está localizada exclusivamente na referida biblioteca do Estado do Pará, o que, certamente, favorece a pouca divulgação acerca desse conteúdo historiográfico, além de posicionar o Pará entre as importantes províncias brasileiras do Oitocentos.
