For this, we will look for materialities in the city press, drawing a parallel between the years 1966 and 2016, in order to characterize the discourse in its movement in two moments of commemoration of the city. Finally, let's look for political groups that have fled to an official celebration of the party. Thus, we will conduct an ethnographic research with a group that compose the Afro-religious community of Belém, trying to understand which meanings such group attributes to the city's birthday party. Our theoretical-methodological contribution is based on discourse analysis, especially in Michael Foucault’s archeology of knowledge, as well as in the use of this methodology in the study of media materialities in Maria do Rosário Gregolin. Our field research also includes Clifford Geertz’s interpretation of the cultures, Maissimo Canevacci’s urban ethnography and Alessandro Portelli’s oral history. The main objective is, therefore, to demonstrate the discursive tensions that unfold in the urban Amazon during the commemoration of Belém's birthday, demonstrating its political and relational character among different projects that reverberate in themes such as citizenship and the right to the city. Esta dissertação busca percorrer o tema aniversário de 400 anos de Belém, comemorado em 2016, para compreender como se dá a construção do discurso sobre o aniversário da cidade, bem como os temas, os enunciados e outros discursos com os quais traça vizinhanças e relações. Para isso, vamos procurar materialidades na imprensa da cidade, traçando um paralelo entre os anos de 1966 e 2016, de modo a caracterizar o discurso em seu movimento em dois momentos de comemoração da cidade. Por fim, vamos procurar grupos políticos que fugiram a uma comemoração oficial da festa. Assim, conduziremos uma pesquisa de caráter etnográfico junto a um grupo que compõe a comunidade afrorreligiosa de Belém, procurando compreender quais os sentidos e significados que tal grupo atribui à festa do aniversário da cidade para contrapor os resultados. Nosso aporte teórico-metodológico está baseado na análise do discurso, especialmente na arqueologia do saber de Michael Foucault, bem como na utilização desta metodologia no estudo de materialidades midiáticas em Maria do Rosário Gregolin. Nossa pesquisa de campo conta ainda com a interpretação das culturas de Clifford Geertz, a etnografia urbana de Massimo Canevacci e a história oral de Alessandro Portelli. Vamos nos apoiar também em um aporte teórico da História Social e da Antropologia para discutir os resultados. O objetivo principal é, portanto, caracterizar as tensões discursivas que se desenrolam na Amazônia urbana durante a comemoração do aniversário de Belém, demonstrando seu caráter político e relacional entre diferentes projetos, que reverbera em temas como cidadania e o direito à cidade.
