The train, as a means of communication, instigates us to reflect on the relations, clusters and cities that have emerged from their travels and displacements, as well as the family nuclei that formed near the railroad. The memorable narratives about this railroad will serve as an initial symbolic map to problematize the relations between communication, culture and identities in the paraense Amazon. Books, photos, maps, blogs and videos are clues to search for traces of the Bragança train and its passengers through their narratives. One can perceive how these texts produce in time the totality of this experience that has crossed lives in times dated as an event remembered in search of self-construction from the collective memory. Este artigo problematiza significações e interações comunicacionais de sujeitos sociais, seguindo-se o percurso da antiga Estrada de Ferro Belém Bragança (EFB), desativada pelo governo militar em 1965. O trem, como meio de comunicação, nos instigar a refletir sobre as relações, aglomerados e cidades que foram surgindo a partir de suas viagens e deslocamentos, assim como os núcleos familiares que se formaram às proximidades da via férrea. As narrativas memoráveis sobre a referida ferrovia nos servirão de mapa simbólico inicial para problematizar as relações entre comunicação, cultura e identidades na Amazônia paraense. Livros, fotos, mapas, blogs e vídeos são pistas para buscar os rastros do trem de Bragança e de seus passageiros por meio de suas narrativas. Percebe-se o modo como tais textos produzem no tempo a totalidade dessa experiência, que atravessou vidas em épocas datadas como acontecimento lembrado em busca da construção de si a partir da memória coletiva.
