It must be said that there were a number of favorable factors for the process of industrialization was initiated, such as resource potential and underutilized labor looking for entrepreneurs willing to invest their capital, and the influence of English industrialization process, while Germany led to new products, creating markets for the products of this country and incited interest in using new technologies. In addition, another key aspect of German industrialization was the practice of protectionism. While large parts of the industrialized countries followed the liberalizing logic in relation to international trade, Germany followed the opposite path, protecting their industry from international competition and limiting access to technologies developed. It is clear, therefore, that there were many propulsion for the German industrial development, among them forces: a consolidated banking and commercial base, an industrial tradition, natural resources largely favoring the improvement of existing technologies, and finally a population very receptive on this new industrial “wave” as well as a dynamic nationalism seeking expression. O presente artigo procura identificar o rápido meio de transformação e desenvolvimento pelo qual a Alemanha passou. Cabe dizer que houve uma série de fatores favoráveis para que o processo de industrialização se iniciasse, tais como: potencial de recursos e trabalho subutilizados à procura de empresários dispostos a investir seu capital, e a influência do processo de industrialização inglesa que, ao mesmo tempo, levava à Alemanha novos produtos, criava mercados para os produtos deste país e incitava o interesse pela utilização de novas tecnologias. Além disso, outro aspecto fundamental da industrialização alemã era a prática do protecionismo. Enquanto que grandes partes dos países industrializados seguiam a lógica liberalizante em relação ao comércio internacional, a Alemanha seguiu o caminho oposto, protegendo sua indústria da concorrência internacional e limitando o acesso às tecnologias que desenvolvia. Percebe-se, portanto, que houve muitas forças propulsoras para o desenvolvimento industrial alemão, dentre elas: uma base bancária e comercial consolidada, uma tradição industrial, recursos naturais em larga escala que favoreciam o aprimoramento de tecnologias existentes, e, por fim, uma população bastante receptiva diante desta nova “onda” industrial, bem como um nacionalismo dinâmico à procura de expressão.
