Resumo:
The main objective of this study is to discuss the factors that contributed to the changes in the territoriality of artisanal fishermen on the Araguari-Amapá River. Located in the middle of the basin, artisanal fishermen from Porto Grande are part of the group affected by the hydroelectric projects installed in the last decade. With the installation, artisanal fishermen from Araguari started to report changes in the fisheries' reproduction cycle, and consequently loss of fishing territoriality and fishing areas – occurring greater pressure on new areas and insecurity of trafficability in previously used fishing grounds. With the new use, they begin to report the occurrence of conflicts and disputes over the resource. In this way, we resort to the panorama of policies implemented over the Amazonian space to understand the strategies of use and appropriation conferred at different times by different agents, as well as the respective resistances of the fishing activity.
