To carry out the research, it was possible to rely on the methodology of scientific investigation, based on the principles of constant becoming, the dynamism that involved the investigation, seeking the logical sequence of its implementation. Therefore, the focus adopted was qualitative and quantitative, with a non-experimental design, presenting a descriptive exploratory level, when the interviews applied among tourism managers in the state of Amapá, tourism production agents and in non-governmental institutions and document analysis. As a result of the investigation, initially through the approaches to those investigated, it was found that the tourist regions of Amapá occur in a timid, isolated way and do not provide sufficient support in all fields for tourism to be effective. Based on the respondents and on the documental analysis, the absence of investments in tourism in the state of Amapá was clear, since it does not launch public policies to encourage tourism, even considering that Amapá is rich in natural spaces that are attractive to domestic tourists. and external, since, in the eyes of those who defend the preservation of nature, the state of Amapá would have already manifested itself to the enrichment of tourism, considering that, in the Legal Amazon, it registers that it is the state of the Brazilian federation that has 97% of the environment under preservation and, in view of this, in addition to tourist attractions, it has natural beauties that must be contemplated by all, but through a systematic and responsible tourism process, for the state, for the nation and for the world. Esta produção científica, denominada tese de doutorado, intitulada “As regiões turísticas no estado do Amapá e as políticas públicas”, exigiu a sistematização do objetivo geral que se apresenta em analisar a região turística no estado do Amapá e as políticas públicas. Para a realização da pesquisa, pôde-se contar com a metodologia da investigação científica, a partir dos princípios do devir constante, da dinamicidade que envolveu a investigação, buscando a sequência lógica de sua concretização. Portanto, o enfoque adotado foi qualitativo e quantitativo, de desenho não experimental, apresentando o nível exploratório descritivo, quando se utilizou como instrumentos de coleta de dados a entrevista aplicadas entre os gestores do turismo no estado do Amapá, agentes de produção do turismo e em instituições não governamentais e análise documental. Como resultado da investigação, inicialmente pelas abordagens aos investigados, constatou-se que as regiões turísticas do Amapá ocorrem de forma tímida, isolada e não apresenta suporte suficiente em todos os campos que se efetive o turismo. Com base nos respondentes e na análise documental, ficou clara a ausência de investimentos ao turismo no estado do Amapá, uma vez que não lança políticas públicas ao incentivo do turismo, mesmo considerando que o Amapá é rico em espaços naturais que são atrativos para turistas internos e externos, visto que, aos olhos de quem defende a preservação da natureza, o estado do Amapá já teria se manifestado ao enriquecimento turístico, tendo em vista que, na Amazônia Legal, registra ser o estado da federação brasileira que dispõe de 97% do ambiente em preservação e, diante disto, além de pontos turísticos, dispõe de belezas naturais que devem ser contempladas por todos, mas por um processo sistemático e responsável de turismo, para o estado, para a nação e para o mundo.
