The arrival of agribusiness export is promoting a livestock revolution in the region, in terms of technical changes to provide raw material with quality and competitive prices. But the biggest change can occur in the ecological area wich involves the activity in the region, where the export agribusiness is represented by the companies JBS, Bertin, Minerva, Marfrig and Independence, this companies respect the international requirements in their beef production and they’ve received the centification of “legal” product, without giving rise to the deforestation. The result may be a reduction in the deforestation and a increase in the productivity through adoption of new Technologies in the livestock. Key-words: Livestock in the Amazon. Large agroindustrial capital. Recent dynamics. Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a dinâmica recente da pecuária da Amazônia. A chegada da agroindústria de exportação esta promovendo uma revolução na pecuária regional, em termos de transformações técnicas para oferecer matéria prima de qualidade e com preços competitivos. Mas a principal mudança pode ainda ocorrer na questão ecológica que envolve a atividade na região, uma vez que a agroindústria de exportação representada pela empresas JBS, Bertin, Minerva, Marfrig e Independência, tem submetido a produção de carne bovina da região às exigências do mercado internacional: a certificação de um produto “legal”, sem dar origem a desmatamentos. O resultado pode ser uma redução no desmatamento e um aumento de produtividade via incorporação de novas tecnologias na pecuária. Palavras-chave: Pecuária na Amazônia. Grande capital agroindustrial.
