This dissertation presents the order reduction problem of dynamic models, from the optimization viewpoint by genetic algorithm. An objective function, obtained from the norm of the coefficients of the numerator of the error transfer function among the original and reduced model, is minimized by a genetic algorithm, with consequent calculation of the parameters of the reduced model. The procedure is applied to some examples that demonstrate the validity of the approach. |
