Resumo:
This paper discusses the perceptions that women sentenced to a closed Female Reeducation Center (CRF), women's prison located in Pará State, built on the criminal justice system in which they operate, from what they refer/represent as crime, justice and freedom ― basic categories for research that ultimately served mainly to reveal a world of higher correlations within the space searched. The discussion comes from fieldwork conducted in 2010 and the first half of 2011, with a group of twelve interlocutors, two prison guards and two policemen who were interviewed in order to highlight the different relationships established from life in prison. In this perspective, the data for research allude to the fact that the women's prison is not a simple space where the interlocutors are the obligation of the sentence, it is reworked and remeaning daily, marking the changes of values, ideas and behaviors of women sentenced, making certainties of life in prison prior to recurring questions and also create opportunities for new social arrangements.
