Resumo:
Radioisotope methodology through the single-well technique have been used with the objective of determining velocity and direction of groundwater flow with radioactive tracers in boreholes located at Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), Belém-PA, Brazil, next to Guamá river. We used radiotracer iodine-131 and data was acquired by means of espectrometric system with radiation detectors. The application of this technique to determine jointly velocity and direction of flow, despite not usual, appeared to be a good alternative for further practical applications.
