Specifically, the research aimed to identify the key terms and concepts used in the construction of regional knowledge by way of strict sense postgraduate research in the Amazon. As a result of this terminological analysis, was organized, is systematized and was standardized the terms and concepts used in theses and dissertations of graduate programs and built up a microthesaurus to serve as a tool for recovery of environmental information. The theoretical framework of the research was outlined in the literature of environmental management, terminology and tools of the documentary language, specifically the thesaurus and glossary. Methodologically, the study followed a qualitative approach thrlough the research in print materials; the data were obtained through a documentary research and content analysis of 332 dissertations and 43 doctoral theses. In document analysis was used a terminological form for the purpose of collection, extraction and standardization of environmental terms (concepts) from the scientific production of PPGs. The Research shows, from the terminological analysis PPGs in the Amazon has contributed to the advancement of knowledge in environmental management, especially in their interpretation and application in the region. The terminological analysis allowed the creation of a glossary with 190 environmental terms and 490 concepts in Portuguese used in scientific production of postgraduate programs in environmental management specialty portraying their contributions to the advancement in understanding of concept. Beyond the glossary, we designed a specific conceptual map in environmental management together with the terminological analysis, allowed the elaboration of a microthesaurus. The contribution of this work is precisely applied in the construction of microthesaurus with their terminological relations and specificities in environmental management. A pesquisa objetivou traçar um perfil do debate sobre gestão ambiental na Amazônia à luz das terminologias utilizadas na produção científica dos Programas de Pós-Graduação (PPGs) autorizados pela Coordenadoria de Aperfeiçoamento do Ensino Superior (CAPES), na área temática Interdisciplinar e de Ciências Ambientais. Especificamente, a pesquisa objetivou conhecer os principais termos e conceitos utilizados na construção do conhecimento regional por vias das pesquisas de pós-graduação stricto sensu na Amazônia. Em consequência dessa análise terminológica, organizou-se, sistematizou-se e padronizou-se os termos e conceitos utilizados nas dissertações e teses dos programas de pós-graduação e construiu-se um microtesauro para servir de ferramenta para a recuperação da informação ambiental. O arcabouço teórico da pesquisa foi delineado sob as literaturas de gestão ambiental, terminologia e instrumentos da linguagem documentária, mais especificamente dos tesauros e do glossário. Metodologicamente, o trabalho seguiu a abordagem qualitativa e a pesquisa de fonte de papel, cujos dados foram obtidos por meio de uma análise documental e de conteúdo de 332 dissertações e 43 teses de doutorado. Na análise documental utilizou-se um formulário terminológico com a finalidade de coleta, extração e padronização dos termos ambientais (conceitos) provenientes das produções científicas dos PPGs. A pesquisa mostra, a partir da análise terminológica, que PPGs na Amazônia tem contribuído para o avanço do conhecimento sob gestão ambiental, sobretudo em sua interpretação e aplicação na região. A análise terminológica permitiu a criação de um glossário com 190 termos ambientais e 490 conceitos em Língua Portuguesa utilizados na produção científica dos programas de pós-graduação na especialidade gestão ambiental que retratam suas contribuições para o avanço no entendimento do conceito. Além do glossário, foi elaborado um mapa conceitual específico em gestão ambiental que em conjunto com a análise terminológica, permitiu a elaboração de um microtesauro.
