About the narratives, we will discuss the perspective of the child and of the madman, the way of apprehension of the world and life, through the beauty or the madness, and a comparative reading related to temporality between “The thin edge of happiness” and “Treetops”, whose similarity is present in the theme and in narrative structure. In the study, we will highlight the critic texts from scholars of the criticism reception about Guimarães Rosa as Rónai, Soares, Holanda and Tatit, besides, this paper is based in the Aesthetic of Reception, formulated by the German Hans Robert Jauss under a perspective of a literary hermeneutics that becomes the reader a major collaborator in the building of sense of a given written production, and which the aesthetic experience is taken by an integration between the legacy of the literary-historical tradition and the interpretive horizons of those who read the work, seen mainly in A história da literatura como provocação à teoria literária. Thus, the first chapter will discuss of the study recepcional-aesthetic and literary hermeneutics through of the texts from Jauss, Gadamer, Ricoeur and Palmer, outlining the main theoretical guidelines for the construction of the next chapters. Following, in the second chapter we will make the study of the “The thin edge of happiness”, “Treetops” and “Much ado” (Third bank of the river and other stories) and “Campo geral” (Corpo de baile). Finally, in the third chapter, we will present analyses of criticism reception of the small collection of the referred narratives. Este trabalho centra-se no estudo das narrativas “Campo geral”, de Corpo de baile (1956), “As margens da alegria”, “Os cimos” e “Darandina”, de Primeiras estórias (1962), do escritor João Guimarães Rosa (1908-1967). Será discutido a perspectiva da criança e do louco a respeito do modo de apreensão do mundo e da vida, seja pela beleza, seja pela loucura, visando também a uma leitura comparativa relacionada à temporalidade em “As margens da alegria” e em “Os cimos”, cuja semelhança está presente tanto na temática quanto na estrutura das narrativas. Com o intuito de interpretar os contos selecionados, em que são abordados temas diversificados como: a infância, a alegria, a perda, a morte, a loucura e o sofrimento foram escolhidos estudiosos das obras de Guimarães Rosa como: Paulo Rónai, Claudia Soares, Sílvio Holanda, Luiz Tatit. Tendo em vista que este exame se fundamenta na Estética da Recepção, formulada por Hans Robert Jauss, o qual, sob a ótica de uma hermenêutica literária, defende que o leitor é o principal colaborador na constituição de sentido de uma dada produção literária, em que a experiência estética é conduzida por uma integração entre a herança da tradição histórico-literária e os horizontes interpretativos de quem lê a obra. Dessa forma, no primeiro capítulo, discutiremos acerca do método estético-recepcional e da hermenêutica literária, balizados por textos de Jauss, Gadamer, Ricoeur e Palmer, traçando as orientações teóricas para a construção dos próximos capítulos. No segundo capítulo, proporemos o estudo da interpretação de “As margens da alegria”, “Os cimos” e “Darandina” (Primeiras estórias) e de “Campo geral” (Corpo de baile).
