In 1961 the same author established, for the same genus, the name of Klossinemella, to verify that the previous one was occupied (Protozoa). In the present work, we introduce some modifications in the diagnosis of the genus and describe a species, considered new to science, found in a very abundant number in the stomach of the Amazonian tortoise - Podocnemis expansa (Shaw.) - autopsied us at Oswaldo Cruz Institute - Rio de Janeiro - under the number 18,246. |
