Resumo:
The Euglossini tribe has a typical Neotropical distribution and is divided into five genera, Euglossa Latreille, 1802 (116 species), Eulaema Lepeletier, 1841 (26 species) and Eufriesea Cockerell, 1908 (62 species) and the Kleptoparasites Aglae Lepeletier; (18 species) and Exaerete Hoffmannsegg (7 species) 1817 (Parra-H et al., 2006, Oliveira et al., 2006). They occur predominantly in forests of the humid tropics, being thus considered forest bees (Dressler, 1982). Males are especially important in pollination of orchids, from which they also collect aromas, these fragrances probably of importance in their territorial and reproductive behavior. The collection of fragrances in orchid flowers and other floral and non-floral sources by males is one of the most peculiar characteristics of Euglossini (Dressler, 1982). In the Amazon, systematized surveys of Euglossini have been carried out using aromatic baits. The group has been studied regarding possible responses to effects resulting from habitat fragmentation, and to the potential of use as environmental and biodiversity indicators (Becker, et al., 1991 And Nemésio & Silveira, 2006). The Botanical Garden Bosque Rodrigues Alves is a remnant of primary forest in the middle of the urban space of the city of Belém, besides sheltering species of fauna and flora of the Amazon, it covers a total area of 15 ha divided in four quadrants and 113 beds. It is a space of important leisure of the city and little is known about the local entomofauna.
