To obtain clones with satisfactory productive characteristics in our region, there is need for a rigorous selection process of new clones adapted to the different ecological conditions, and this is the main objective of the project under study. The trial was implemented using nine (09) clones selected from a small-scale experiment: IAN 8132, 8272, 8530, 8559, 8128, 7998, 8001, 8093, 8088 and the witness clone IAN 717, which showed good production and resistance to the fungus Microcyclus ulei. At the moment, the 8 plants obtained are bagged and are receiving the appropriate cultural treatments. Meanwhile, new nurseries were installed since the lack of "horses" made the grafting work difficult, as well as the scarcity of the cloning material itself, which is obtained from mother plants that were not "releasing bark". It should be noted, however, that the complementation of plants will take place during this year, since we have all the necessary conditions for the implementation of the trial. O Estado do Pará, em razão de sua localização e extensão territorial, apresenta diferentes regiões edafoclimáticas em cujas áreas o comportamento dos clones é diferente em função de sua interação genótipo x ambiente. Para obtenção de clones que apresentam características produtivas satisfatórias em nossa região, há necessidade de um rigoroso processo de seleção de novos clones adaptados às distintas condições ecológicas, sendo este o principal objetivo do projeto em estudo. Utilizou-se na implantação do ensaio 09 (nove) clones oriundos da seleção de um experimento em pequena escala: IAN 8132, 8272, 8530, 8559, 8128, 7998, 8001, 8093, 8088 e o clone testemunha IAN 717, que apresentaram boa produção e resistência ao fungo Microcyclus ulei. No momento a8 plantas obtidas encontram-se ensacoladas e estão recebendo os tratos culturais adequados. Enquanto isso, novos viveiros foram instalados visto que a carência de "cavalos" dificultou o trabalho de enxertia, assim como a escassez do próprio material de clonagem o qual é obtido de plantas matrizes e que não estavam "liberando casca".
