This work is part of the project "Collection, propagation and evaluation of Amazonian medicinal plants", which is being developed at EMBRAPA/CPATU in partnership with JICA. It aims to provide more information about the dendrological data of Amazonian medicinal plants, which are used by the local population and indigenous civilization to cure their ills. This work is based on bibliographic research and popular knowledge about the native plants with medicinal properties in this region. To date, 60 species have been described in alphabetical order by common name. Also provided are data such as: scientific name, family, popular use, part used, method of preparation, chemical components and geographical distribution. The descriptions will be accompanied by illustrations and documented by "exsiccata" which will be archived in the herbarium (IAN) of CPATU.
